Just Another Thursday...

Just another Thursday...Not at all...last Thursday was so busy!  The Rubes and I did so much stuff and saw so many people.

Weston got to meet the doctor that delivered him, Dr. Capet, for the first time (officially). Of course, she thought he was adorable and loved all of his curly hair. He also got to meet Marissa, the nurse I saw on most of my prenatal visits.

After we went to the doctor we headed to Goodwill and bought some fun stuff! Then we went to my work so I could get my flu shot. Weston got to meet and hang out with his Stella (his work "grandma") and also got to go see Susan, Danny, Steve, Bryan and some other people that work in my department.

Weston loved hanging out with Stella...He thought she was hilarious.

As I posted before Weston also went to the new gym with me for the first time and was such a good boy!

Weston has made a couple of things very clear lately...

1. He wants to hold his green rattle at ALL times.

2. At Dinner time he also wants to hold him own spoon and feed himself (no help is needed or wanted)

3. If you take them away he will give you this face...

4. You will also get this face if you make an airplane noise...

5. He is most likely going to win these battles every time! Rattle and spoon in hand for bath time! :)

This past Thursday I took Weston to Performance Playground (the gym I go to) with me. I was super nervous about how things would go because he would have to just hang out there while we worked out (they don't have a child care center). So I packed up his bumbo chair and some of his favorite toys and kept my fingers crossed that they would do the trick. Once we got there I put him in his bumbo seat and surrounded him with his toys and he was such a perfect boy the Whole time. He just sat there and played with his toys and watched us work out...he loved watching everyone...he especially loved when we would jump rope. Ashley (one of our boot-camp instructors...who is expecting a baby any day now) kept an eye on him and snapped these great pictures!

Billy Reuben

So some of yall might not have noticed but we rarely call Weston, Weston. Here is the story behind Billy Reuben

After Weston was born the doctors and nurses kept talking about bilirubin levels and jaundice. Weston didn't have jaundice so we wondered...who the heck is this Billy Reuben. Thinking about it now cracks me up! Weston has had the nickname since right after birth but I never thought it would stick like it has. I would however like to give Sam props for the wide spread use of his nickname....he started just calling him Billy or Bills and I would get so annoyed and then all of a sudden I would catch myself calling him the same...this also happened with Candy. We are not trying to confuse our sweet baby boy but you just can't pass up on a nickname (and story like that). And that is the short version of the origination of Billy Reuben

Growing Up So Fast

The other day Sam says to me "It is like Weston isnt a baby anymore"... While we know he still is a baby he is growing up so fast and learning so much daily. He is now reaching out and grabbing for anything and everything and loves to use his spoon and drink out of regular cups. He is becoming a "big boy" so fast and he amazes us everyday with his new found skills. We love him so much and couldn't have asked for a sweeter, happier, more smiley baby!  

Happy Labor Day!

I can't even believe Labor Day is already here and gone...Time is just flying. We celebrated Labor Day with Family at Uncle Randy's and Aunt Peggy's house. Weston was pretty tired when we got there so he stayed up at the house and helped GiGi cook (even though he should have been napping but he was protesting a nap) while Sam and I went down to the lake to hang out on the boat and swim. After dinner we headed home, fed and bathed Weston and then Candy came over so Sam and I could go out for a little date night. We went to the Dig Pub for a beer and then went over to David and Leah's and hung out with the whole Cantu Clan. Monday, we got to sleep in (GiGi spent the night and woke up with Weston in the a.m....what would we do without her!) and then got a lot done around the house...it was a very productive day.
